What the Medicare Experience Survey Means for You
What is the Medicare Experience Survey?
Each year, members like you are asked to take a special survey about their Medicare plan. You might be picked to take part soon. If you are, your answers will be private, so you can share your honest thoughts.
Why should I take the survey?
Your voice matters – you help us figure out which benefits matter most to you and members like you. It's your chance to make a difference in the support and benefits you receive now and in the future.
How will I know if I’m picked for the survey?
If you are picked to take the survey, you will receive a letter, email, or phone call between March and May of 2026.
Survey tips
Skip questions that don’t apply to you.
Example: In the last six months, how often was it easy to use your prescription drug plan to get the medicines your doctor prescribed?
Tip: Skip this question if your doctor didn’t prescribe you any medicines. Answering “Never” would mean it was never easy to use your prescription drug plan to get the medicines your doctor prescribed.
For questions about customer service, think about how correct and polite the person was.
Example: In the last six months, how often did your health plan’s customer service give you the information or help you needed?
Answers: Never | Sometimes | Usually | Always
Tip: Did you get the information you were looking for? Was the customer service specialist polite and helpful?
Remember: You can skip this question if you did not call customer service in the last six months.
Think about your overall experience, not just your most recent one.
Example: In the last six months, how often was it easy to get the care, tests, or treatment you needed?
Answers: Never | Sometimes | Usually | Always
Tip: Imagine you went to the doctor four times in the last six months. The visits were great — your doctor was on time, and you felt listened to and cared for. In this case, you would pick “Always.” This is because you always got the care you needed.
For questions asking for a rating between 0 and 10, 0 is the lowest rating and 10 is the highest.
Example: Using any number from 0 to 10, where 0 is the worst prescription drug plan possible and 10 is the best prescription drug plan possible, what number would you use to rate your prescription drug plan?
0 | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | 10
Tip: If you are happy about the quality of your prescription plan, you choose 10. Consider things like if your medications are covered or if you can easily find an in-network pharmacy.
