Reminder: Updated member ID cards for 2026
As a reminder, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC) made a minor change to our 2026 member ID cards in September 2025. The traditional suitcase logo was replaced with a product indicator icon. This is per mandate from the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association (BCBSA) to streamline card design and improve clarity.

This is per a mandate from the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association (BCBSA) to streamline card design and improve clarity. While this is a minor format change, we wanted to ensure our provider community is aware and ensure they have the most up-to-date member ID card on file for each member.
What’s changing:
- The traditional suitcase logo (e.g., PPO in a suitcase) will be replaced with a simplified product indicator (e.g., PPO in a box).
- The new design will begin appearing in late September for all newly issued cards, including those requested by members or issued to new enrollees.
