Effective October 1, 2026, and in line with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina’s (Blue Cross NC) Pricing Policy updates, Blue Cross NC will reimburse telehealth Covered Services with a Place of Service (POS) code 02 at the facility rate.
Blue Cross NC will update its pricing policies to remove specific language stating (POS) 02 will be reimbursing the non-facility rate. Blue Cross NC’s pricing source hierarchy for facility telehealth rates published by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) with POS 02 will be used to calculate reimbursement for telehealth Covered Services. At this time, there are no changes to how Place of Service code 10 will be reimbursed.
