Pre-pay DRG review program provider training webinars

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC) recently announced the upcoming launch of pre-payment DRG reviews in partnership with Machinify, LLC, formerly Apixio, effective November 26, 2025.

Machinify, will continue to use its Provider Portal for communication and record requests to support the new pre-payment DRG review process. This portal is already widely used by Blue Cross NC network providers for post-pay reviews and will remain the central platform for outreach for all DRG related communications. Please designate preferred points of contact, such as personnel responsible for receiving Medical Record Requests and Review Determinations, by emailing provider-support@machinify.com. Machinify will also be reaching out to providers via email to gather and update points of contact as needed.

To help your teams prepare for this transition, Machinify will host two live, interactive webinars for providers and office staff. These sessions are strongly recommended, even for those already familiar with Machinify’s portal, given the shift to pre-pay review timing.

Webinar Topics Include:

• Overview of Machinify’s communication process (e.g., record requests, letters)
• Live demonstration of the Provider Portal, including registration and navigation
• Guidance on updating contact information (e.g., email recipients for record requests, findings letters, dispute outcomes)
• Live Q&A with Machinify Solution Leaders
