Blue Cross NC Begins 2024 Annual Wellness Visit Campaign

Starting in late March and continuing through August 2024, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC) will communicate the importance of having an Annual Wellness Visit to Medicare Advantage members. Communications going out in late March, late May and late July will encourage Medicare Advantage members to schedule their Medicare Annual Wellness Visit with their primary care provider. Outreach will also promote that Medicare Advantage members can receive a $50 reward for completing their Wellness visit any time from now until the end of the calendar year.

The new features for the 2024 Annual Wellness Visit Campaign include:

• Members may receive their reward for completing one of three appointments: an Annual Wellness Visit, Annual Routine Physical, or Welcome to Medicare Visit (for members with fewer than 12 months on Medicare Advantage).
• Members identified through care gaps data as needing certain diabetes screenings can earn up to an additional $30 for completing those screenings in addition to their Annual Wellness Visit, Annual Routine Physical or Welcome to Medicare Visit.
• Waves two and three of this campaign will include a personalized Health Care Status check, showing members which screenings they should have (based on their care gap data), which of those screenings they’ve completed and which they still need to complete. Where applicable, members’ personalized Health Care Status checks will also include information about medication adherence.
