Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC) offers providers the ability to save time and administrative burden by creating authorization requests online through the Care Affiliate/Blue e portal.

Additionally, providers can also use Care Affiliate to:

  • Upload documentation
  • Communicate directly with Nurse Reviewers
  • Check authorization status
  • Update pending authorization requests
  • Request extensions
  • View/save/print determination letters
  • Access the Prior Plan Approval List
