Does my policy cover me outside of North Carolina?

Student Blue^℠ is a worldwide policy, so you'll have coverage wherever you travel. The plan has in-network providers around the world. You can search for providers outside of North Carolina on our website or by calling the  “Locate Non-NC Provider" number on the back of your member ID card.

If you visit an in-network provider in another state, you'll need to make sure the provider files a claim with the Blue Cross Blue Shield plan of the state where services were received. For example, if you see an in-network provider in Florida, the provider will need to file a claim to Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida.

Providers must include the alpha prefix (3 letters preceding the W on your member ID card) when filing claims with the local BCBS.
