Can out-of-network providers use the Provider Access API?

No. Out-of-network providers are not eligible to access member information through the Provider Access API.

Under the CMS Interoperability and Prior Authorization Final Rule (CMS-0057-F), access to member data through the Provider Access API is limited to participating in-network providers who have a valid treatment relationship with a member.
