New health program designed just for you

Our newly redesigned Member Health PartnershipsSM1 health management program is tailored around you, allowing you to customize a plan to meet your personal health goals 1 . You can address multiple health concerns at once, including asthma, heart disease, migraines and diabetes. Or, you can just focus on living a healthier lifestyle through better nutrition and fitness.

Members can enroll in the health program at no cost and now have access to a wider array of resources and benefits through the program, including:

  • A personalized health report, based on your answers to a health survey
  • A health organizer, filled with information related to your goals and concerns
  • One–on–one advice from a health care professional
  • Six annual nutritional counseling visits 2 , 3
  • Tools, kits and education materials
  • Special discounts on medications 4 , 5
  • Newsletters on disease prevention and management

Also new to the program – healthy weight resources especially for children! Resources are designed to empower families to help their children maintain healthy weights, adopt good eating habits and get daily physical activity. Benefits include covered professional nutrition counseling, covered doctor visits to evaluate and treat obesity and lots of tools and educational resources that kids can use and understand.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (BCBSNC) provides the Member Health Partnerships (MHP) program for your convenience and is not liable in any way for the services received. BCBSNC reserves the right to discontinue or change the program at any time. Some employers have elected not to make the BCBSNC MHP program available to their employees. Additionally, some of the MHP benefits may be different for members of BCBSNC high–deductible health plans. Check with your benefits administrator to determine your eligibility.

1 Benefits available through the Member Health Partnerships program are subject to your current benefit plan and pre–existing waiting periods.

2 The nutrition counseling benefit is generally available to members participating in the BCBSNC Member Health Partnerships program who have Blue Care, Blue Options and Blue Advantage® plans. Some self–insured employer groups may choose not to offer this benefit.

3 Deductibles and coinsurance may apply for hospital–based dietitian visits or for an office visit if you are enrolled in a high–deductible health plan.

4 This benefit applies to inhaled corticosteroids and is available only to members who are enrolled in the Member Health Partnerships program who are covered under Blue Care® or Blue OptionsSM plans and who have pharmacy benefits through Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina. Applies to inhaled corticosteroids in Tier 2 of the BCBSNC clinical formulary. This benefit will not apply if you are enrolled in a high–deductible health plan.

5 Prior review and certification are required to determine medical necessity. Medical necessity is determined by BCBSNC in accordance with BCBSNC medical and utilization management policies.
