NCQA Accreditation

BCBSNC has earned the National Committee for Quality Assurance's (NCQA) highest level of accreditation for its HMO (Personal Care Plan and Blue Care), Point-of-Service (MedPoint and Blue Choice), and PPO (Blue Options) health plans. BCBSNC joins the elite ranks of health plans nationwide whose level of service and clinical quality meet or exceed NCQA's rigorous requirements for consumer protection and quality improvement.

NCQA is an independent, not-for-profit organization dedicated to measuring the quality of America's health care. A team of physicians and health care experts conducts NCQA's onsite and offsite evaluations. There are approximately 60 standards for quality included in the following categories:
