Matt Townsan joined the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina Foundation in 2007 as Operations Manager. He is responsible for Foundation workflows, desktop procedures, policies, accountability standards and internal audit. Matt also manages the Foundation Fellows Program, the Button Chair, and other special projects.

Matt began his career at BCBSNC in March 2006 as part of the Project Integration Team. Prior to joining BCBSNC, Matt spent seven years at GlaxoSmithKline in various analyst roles, where he was responsible for project management, process improvement, metrics, and reporting for the Sales Force Automation department. His work included optimizing workflows, creating technical support documentation, and developing training materials.

Matt received his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from West Virginia University.
