Mary Beth joined the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina Foundation staff in July 2006 from her most recent position as executive director of the NC Coalition Against Domestic Violence. She is responsible for managing the BCBSNC Foundation's Community Impact through Nonprofit Excellence focus area.
Her 15 years of experience in the nonprofit world included capacity-building in the following areas: fundraising, media relations, public policy, and outreach to underserved communities.
She currently serves on the Domestic Violence Commission and the Adult Interstate Compact for the Interstate Commission for Adult Offender Supervision. She is also the chair of the NC Community Shares board of directors. Volunteer opportunities allow her to actively contribute to social justice causes in North Carolina and to help reduce violence against women.
Mary Beth received a Bachelor of Arts in Human Services from UNC Charlotte and was nationally recognized in 2004 with a Peace Award from the Sunshine Lady Foundation for her contributions in the field of domestic violence.
