Danielle joined Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina in 1996, and during her first six years with the company she held various positions within the Health Care Services Division. Her responsibilities included managing the Prevention and Health Education team and leading a corporate project focused on enhancing health-related programs and services for employer groups.

In June 2003 Danielle joined the BCBSNC Foundation. She co-led the development of a five-year, $10 million partnership with the North Carolina Association of Free Clinics to sustain and expand the free-clinic model throughout North Carolina. Danielle was named Vice President of Operations and an officer of the BCBSNC Foundation in 2006.

Danielle currently serves on the board of directors of the North Carolina Network of Grantmakers and the YWCA of the Greater Triangle. She is also on the membership and corporate committees of the Southeastern Council of Foundations. In addition, she is a Fellow of the Southeastern Council of Foundation's Hull Leadership program and was selected as one of the Triangle Business Journal's 2004 Top 25 Women in Business.

Danielle received a Bachelor of Science in Commerce from the University of Virginia's McIntire School of Commerce. She is also a 2003 graduate of the WOMEN-Unlimited T.E.A.M. (Training for Emerging and Aspiring Managers) program.
