New BCBSNC Provider Service Model
We wanted to let you know that Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (BCBSNC) is introducing a new service model as of November 1, 2011, which will lead to better alignment of provider service functions and a more consistent overall service experience for you and your staff.
As of November 1, provider service and operational functions, including phone and field support, will be handled by the BCBSNC Provider Service Delivery team. Just call the Provider Blue LineSM at 1-800-214-4844 with any of your service or claims-related questions, as well as when you need specific member benefits, eligibility, referral, or authorization information.
This change will allow BCBSNC Network Management staff to focus on strategic provider relations, enhancing our current provider advocacy efforts, new provider collaboration models and partnerships, provider education and communication needs, as well as individual consultant support you expect from us today. Your network participation, credentialing, NPI configuration, and contracting needs will continue to be handled by BCBSNC Network Management staff.
