Announcing Blue Advantage Saver Plans
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (BCBSNC) has launched Blue Advantage SaverSM - a new product for individuals under 65 that focus on affordability. The Blue Advantage Saver plans are available for effective dates beginning January 1, 2011 and will feature selected preventive services paid at one-hundred (100) percent.
Consumers have expressed an interest in a health plan that offers a low premium, gives them some ongoing value and protects them financially from an unexpected health event. Blue Advantage Saver is a bridge between the rich benefits of traditional Blue Advantage® and the customer accountability of Blue Options HSASM.
Here's a quick look at these three new individual plans:
- Blue Advantage Saver 1: A PPO plan with unlimited primary care visits for a $25 copayment per visit, and other services subject to deductible and coinsurance.
- Blue Advantage Saver 2: A PPO plan that covers four primary care visits per year at a $25 copayment, and other services subject to deductible and coinsurance.
- Blue Advantage Saver 3: A high-deductible PPO plan without a fund account.
As part of our individual annual enrollment period, which ran November 1, 2010 through November 30, 2010, current individual policyholders and prospective shoppers began purchasing these new plans with a January 1, 2011 effective date.
