New Co-Payments for Employees of Publix Super Markets, Inc.

Publix Super Markets, Inc. (Publix) has locations across North Carolina. Many of the chain’s employees who have health coverage with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida (BCBSFL) may be eligible for in-network care from providers in the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina network through the BlueCardSM program.

Starting January 1, 2018, co-payments are increasing for Publix group members with BCBSFL coverage:

Publix group members with coverage through BCBSFL have alpha-prefixes specific to their benefit designs. Using the correct member identification numbers and alpha-prefixes helps ensure accurate claim submissions, decreasing the likelihood of claim denials. Publix group members are easily identified by the alpha-prefix associated with their member ID number:

Benefits and eligibility for services should always be verified before providing any non-emergency service. Providers can very eligibility and benefits for BCBSFL-covered Publix group members using Blue eSM, or by calling the BlueCard® eligibility line at 1-800-676-BLUE (2583).
