Delay in Processing of Corrected Claims Continues

(This is an update to an article that was first posted on December 4, 2013.) 

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (BCBSNC) identified an issue late last year that resulted in a processing delay of corrected claims for our commercial lines of business, including ASO, insured, IPP-Host, and the State Health Plan.  

Unfortunately, we are still experiencing system issues with releasing these claims once they are adjusted.  Please be assured that we continue to research this issue and are working to determine and fix the root cause.  

At this time, please do not resubmit any corrected claims, as it will cause additional delays and possible denials for duplicate claim submissions.  If you need to check the status of a particular previously submitted corrected claim, please have the DCN available when you contact BCBSNC Customer Service. 

Again, we apologize for this continued delay in processing these corrected claims, and we appreciate your patience as we are working to address the issue as quickly as possible.
