About Dental Blue for groups

We know each employer has different preferences and budgets. That's why our Dental Blue plans offer a broad range of products and benefits. With Dental Blue, you make the choices.

One ID card, one bill
Combining your Dental Blue plan with your group medical insurance gives you the convenience of having one source to cover all your insurance needs. You'll pay only one bill and your employees will keep track of only one ID card. Plus, you have the security of knowing Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina is behind your coverage.

No networks, no boundaries
Your employees will be glad to know they can choose any licensed dentist they like! There are no restrictions, or "in-network" requirements. Dental Blue® makes it easy.

Optional orthodontic coverage
In addition to providing diagnostic/preventive, basic and major dental services, when you select a True Group plan, you can offer your employees the added benefit of orthodontic care. Orthodontic coverage includes a 50% coinsurance level with a choice of different lifetime maximums. Orthodontic benefits are only available with True Group plans.

Customize your plan to your needs
We provide flexible funding by letting you decide whether to contribute to your employees' dental coverage. You can choose either our True Group plan or a Voluntary plan.

With a Dental Blue plan, you contribute a portion of the employee premium. To take advantage of this plan, at least 75% of your employees must enroll.

Dental Blue plan coverage
You have a choice of deductible, annual maximum and coinsurance (or employee share) amounts. Just choose from the following:

Family Deductible Options 3 times individual
Annual Dental Maximum $750, $1,000 or $1,500
Dental Coinsurance 100% Diagnostic & Preventative
80% Basic
50% Major
Orthodontic Riders 50% coinsurance with a $1000 or $1500 lifetime maximum
