Help Me Decide

Which Medicare plans would be a good fit for your needs? Answer just a few questions and find out in minutes. All questions are required for us to provide a recommendation.

Answering these questions doesn't enroll you in a Medicare plan, nor does it require you to select only the plans we recommend. You're free to select any plan you choose, provided it's available in your area, but you must complete an application in order to enroll in a Medicare plan.

1. What's your ZIP Code?

If your ZIP Code covers more than one county, you'll be asked to select the county where you live.

We ask this because not all of our Medicare plans are available in all North Carolina counties.

2. What kind of coverage are you looking for today?

Required

3. What's most important for you in a plan?

Required

4. Do you regularly travel outside of North Carolina?

Required

5. Do you have prescription drug coverage currently through an employer or union that you plan to keep?

If you currently have health coverage from an employer or union, joining Blue Medicare HMO, Blue Medicare PPO or Blue Medicare Rx (PDP) could affect your employer or union health benefits. You could lose your employer or union health coverage if you join Blue Medicare HMO, Blue Medicare PPO or Blue Medicare Rx (PDP). Read the communications your employer or union sends you. If you have questions, visit their website or contact the office listed in their communications. If there isn't any information on whom to contact, your benefits administrator or the office that answers questions about your coverage can help.

Here are some things to remember as you look at the plans we recommend:

  • Blue Medicare SupplementSM plans don't include prescription drug coverage. So if you want a Medicare Supplement plan, and you need prescription drug coverage, you should also enroll in a Blue Medicare RxSM (PDP) plan.
  • If you don't enroll in a prescription drug plan when you first qualify for such coverage, but you decide to enroll later, be aware that you'll pay a penalty for every month you waited before enrolling in a prescription drug plan.
  • If you have a standalone prescription drug plan (Part D), and you enroll in a Blue Medicare HMOSM or Blue Medicare PPOSM plan (our Medicare Advantage or Part C plans), your standalone prescription drug plan will be canceled.

These recommended plans are based on how you answered the questions on the previous page. There are many other plan choices other than what's recommended here. Review all your choices before deciding which plan is right for you.
