Who is a good candidate for corrective laser eye surgery?    top

Generally speaking, laser vision correction can treat a very broad range of eye conditions, including nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. In most cases, patients with the most severe degrees of eye conditions can be treated, though results vary.

Laser vision correction isn't for everyone. People with corneal or retinal diseases, pregnant women and people under 18 are not good candidates. To find out if laser vision correction is right for you, schedule a free consultation with a participating Optic Blue provider.

What does the Optic Blue price per eye include?    top

The Optic Blue price is a global fee and includes all of the following:

  • Initial consultation (free if you decide not to get surgery done)
  • All professional and facility charges for the procedure
  • All follow up visits (typically 6 in the first year)
  • Future correction(s) if needed

There are no "add on" fees or extra surcharges.

What kind of results can I expect?    top

While laser vision correction has proven successful in reducing the need for glasses and contact lenses, the results do vary among individuals. How much and how quickly your vision improves after corrective laser surgery depends on several factors such as your current vision prescription. Your eye doctor can tell you what results to expect based on your current vision.

As a general rule, most patients achieve 20/40 vision or better. At this level, a person should be able to pass a driver's license vision test without corrective lenses.

What if I am not satisfied with the results?    top

When you go in for your consultation, your doctor will tell you what results you can reasonably expect to get from the surgery. Note that some patients may require additional surgery for over/under correction to reach their goal. And remember that all future corrections are covered under the global fee. In the unlikely event you fail to meet the expectations that both you and you doctor agreed to, your doctor will refund the full price of your procedure.
