Ian K. Gordon
Senior Vice President and Chief Operations Officer
Ian Gordon is the senior vice president of Commercial and Government Operations and chief operations officer of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (BCBSNC). In his current role, Gordon is responsible for the company’s commercial, state, and federal operations. Gordon’s division is the largest at BCBSNC with approximately 2,500 employees.
Gordon joined the company in 2007 with more than 25 years of experience in diverse roles within the health insurance, financial services, and consulting industries. He previously served as president and chief operating Officer of Meritain Health in Amherst, New York.
Gordon is a certified public accountant who received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Montclair State College in New Jersey, his master’s degree in business administration from Rider University in New Jersey and a master’s degree in management information systems from the University of Virginia.
