Supported Browsers for Desktop and Mobile

These are the browsers we currently support on Desktop and Mobile:

  • Mozilla Firefox (all versions updated in the past 6 months)

Allowing pop-up windows

If you are having trouble accessing some interactive features of, a pop-up blocker or ad blocking software that you may have installed could be the problem.

If you are running a pop-up blocker or ad blocker, please review that product's documentation for instructions on overriding the blocking feature. You may want to ensure that pop-ups on are allowed.

How to allow pop ups for the browsers supported by

In Internet Explorer

  1. Go to the browser's Tools menu and select Pop-up Blocker » Pop-up Blocker Settings.
  2. Enter and click Add.

In Firefox

  1. Go to the browser's Tools menu and select Options. In the window that appears, select Content.
  2. Uncheck the block pop-up windows option or click Exceptions to add to the list of sites that you want to allow to display pop-ups.

In Safari

  1. Click Safari > Preferences.
  2. In the window that displays, click Security.
  3. Uncheck Block pop-up windows.

Completing the application

Creating a User ID and Password

To submit an application with BCBSNC, you will need to create a User ID and password. Your User ID needs to be at least 6 characters long and may be a combination of letters or numbers. Special characters are not allowed (such as *, @, %).

Your password must be at least 6 characters long and must contain at least one number or symbol.

You only need one User ID and password. You can use this User ID for multiple applications and you can use the same User ID when you register for Member Services after you purchase your BCBSNC plan.

Text Box

There is a maximum of 256 characters allowed in the text boxes that request information about certain health conditions. Special characters (such as *, @, %) are not allowed and will cause errors.

Receiving BCBSNC e-mail

BCBSNC email may be filtered out by some email providers as spam. If you’re expecting an email from us and you haven’t seen it in your inbox, check your junk folder. Then, check your email provider to learn how to add and to your "safe" list.

How We Contact You
You can choose what information we send to you and how we contact you. Visit our Contact Preferences Center to update your contact information, select the alerts, reminders and information you want to get, choose the method of delivery and more.

Blue Connect Secure Inbox
We’ll send you important messages about your plan through the Blue Connect Secure Inbox. When you have a new message, we’ll alert you by email. The secure inbox is a great way to connect with customer service.

Note: We will only use your email address for the communications you’ve requested and will never release it to a third party.

Linking to Pages (Bookmarks)

When you find a Web site that you think you will want to return to on a regular basis (like, you may find it helpful to create a "bookmark" in your Web browser. We recommend that you only save as your bookmark so you always have the most updated and current information about BCBSNC that is available.

BCBSNC has taken steps to protect information collected from our online visitors against unauthorized access and use. All online forms that include information captured from our users are secured using a Secured Socket Layer (SSL), which encrypts the information as it travels from the desktop to our server. BCBSNC is committed to ensuring transaction security and privacy. BCBSNC obtains certification from industry-recognized security vendors to ensure that our systems meet security standards. As an additional security measure, BCBSNC uses a firewall to prevent unauthorized access to our site. Site personnel monitor activity logs at regular intervals to look for unauthorized intrusions.

For your protection, please do not send e-mail to us that contain your personal health information. We cannot guarantee the security of these e-mails before they reach us, in contrast to the security precautions in place when you send us personal information via an online form on this Web site.
